The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program is taught to all year levels and covers a broad range of topics relevant to the students’ age and abilities. STEM education provides opportunities for learning to be delivered in an integrated manner that facilitates greater learning for students in these areas. The students are encouraged to apply critical and creative thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.
STEM Digital Technology allows students to have opportunities to create a range of digital solutions through structured learning experiences. They complete sequenced steps involved in using devices and software such as iPad apps that may integrate hands-on components in order to interface with the software. Students use various technologies, such as Generative Artificial Intelligence, to create new works and enhance their creative work. Students experience digitising their work and are guided to use a computer and web-based apps to manipulate it into new forms.
Students develop their ability to carry out everyday functions using hardware and software. They build their independence and participate cooperatively in group learning activities. Our students learn to use technology safely and to protect themselves and others when using digital systems for learning. They also begin to develop media literacy skills to build an awareness of the digital world around them.
