Welcome to Rosamond Special School. Our website is intended to provide a snapshot of our school's environment, programs, beliefs, values, and, of course, fabulous students.
We have the capacity for just over 150 students aged five to 18. Our catchment includes Melbourne's vibrant west, from suburbs within Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, and Moonee Valley City.
In July 2013, the Rosamond School community relocated from the Rosamond Road site in West Footscray (home for almost 70 years) to the brand new, purpose-built facility we planned, designed, and built in Braybrook.
The classrooms are light, airy, and cleverly designed. They back onto Ballarat Road and look over beautifully landscaped gardens and playgrounds.

Our specialist rooms are built around and look out onto a central courtyard, known as the Town Centre. This part of the school is our gathering place where our students meet at the beginning and end of each day. Our Art Room, Gymnasium, Café, and Allied Health practitioners’ office share this lovely environment. Our Performing Arts Centre, Library, and STEM centre are located near the Primary Section of our school.
One of the things that excites our students most about our school is the space! We have lots of it—space to run, play, bounce a basketball, kick a football, ride a bike, and, above all, learn.
We have a vibrant Kitchen/Garden area where the students learn about growing vegetables, fruit, and herbs. It houses our own cafe, where the students learn to cook healthy foods and engage in hospitality-like services.
Our focus on teaching and learning and our commitment to providing exemplary individual educational programs have built the reputation we are so proud of.
There is so much to share about this wonderful school. Browse our website, and if you need additional information, please call 9311 1511 to arrange a tour. We look forward to meeting you.
